Career Change:
A change in career comes when you do not derive any satisfaction from your
current job. It is always better to tune in with the changing times and scenario
of the world. If you are working in some conventional field and not getting
enough exposure, it is always advisable to change your career and try out
other options that will offer you better scope and opportunities.
But in most cases, people mould their careers after schooling or after passing
out from college. This is evident from the success stories of some great
personalities. Many professionals may have studied irrelevant subjects in
college, but this has not deterred them from excelling in careers centering
round a totally different subject. Although this is a different story, the
suggestion is that if the right subject is chosen and pursued, one can enter
a profession of his or her choice.
Here are certain tips which you should follow before
changing your career. Subject yourself to a self assessment.
1. Do you feel that you are outdated and not keeping
pace with the times?
2. Are you satisfied with your present job and field?
3 Is the present job giving you the necessary exposure
to meet the ever increasing demands of the future?
If the answers to the above questions are negative,
then you should waste no time in moving in the right direction.
1. Go through career magazines and newspapers. Study
the job scenario thoroughly and check out the available options.
2. Now you decide on the particular field you would
like to work in and find out whether you are fit for that field or not.
It is a very crucial decision and it helps to take the guidance of your
seniors as well as elders who are already in that field.
3. Make enquiries as to what are the additional qualifications/capabilities
you should have to make an entry into that field.
4. Mould yourself as per the requirements and be
confident to face the change in career.
